Feedback from MLB Students at The College of Law Australia

On learning of Katherine’s arrival in WA, we sought her out, given her international reputation in legal outsourcing, to assist us in establishing our JacMac+ service, which was a new line of business for our firm. Working with our senior management team, she advised on the strategy and business case and planned the implementation. Upon launch, she worked within the firm to embed and grow the service. My observations on Katherine’s work are that she adds value both at a strategic and at an operational level, which is very important in a project of this type. When we worked together, I valued Katherine’s ability to see the big picture at the same time as rolling her sleeves up to get things done. She has a firm grasp on developments in the law and wide reference points, which she applies to bringing new and creative ideas to the table. Katherine operates with high levels of integrity and quickly develops trust and rapport with a wide range of people.

Malcolm Shelton-Agar, Chief Executive Officer, Jackson McDonald

What’s great about Katherine is that she combines the strategic with the operational, meaning things actually happen and change! She has worked closely with us on all aspects of strategy, sales and marketing since early 2016. She guided us through developing a three year strategy in 2016 and again in early 2020. Our 2016 strategy was challenging but grounded in reality, which meant it was achieved and our business developed as a result. As part of this, Katherine helped us to implement new visual branding and a new website. Katherine also works with me on client reviews, provides monthly partner coaching and has led the process mapping of two key areas of law, resulting in a more efficient approach and more transparent client experience. In addition, she writes and edits content and manages our marketing and sales activities. Katherine continually brings new ideas to the table, is responsive, professional and personable. She is not afraid to challenge us but always does so in a considered and constructive way. We see her as a very valuable member of our team

Peter George, Managing Partner, CIE Legal

Katherine helped our wills and succession planning team undertake a wholesale examination and re-design of their processes from client meeting to product delivery, which resulted in a far more efficient and productive experience, both for our legal team and for our clients. Katherine’s rare combination of experience in law firm strategic planning, knowledge of law tech and other process improvement, and understanding of people (plus actual enjoyment of what she does!) made her the ideal choice for a project that required a wholesale change in how we do things at Cullen Macleod. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Incredibly talented speaker

Top-tier Australian law firm

Katherine has the great ability to offer strategic insights one minute and to roll her sleeves up and drive a project the next. This is a rare skill set in the consulting market and I can't recommend her approach and work highly enough.

Jonathan Patterson, Development Director, DWF

I can honestly say your presentation was one of the most engaging experiences I've had in a long time and I know why: you not only put lot of thought into the content, you also put a lot of thought into how it would be delivered and communicated effectively. Brilliant! I especially love the fact that you backed-up challenging and provocative thoughts with solid arguments.

Simon Fasolo, Business Development Manager, OM ThreeSixty

Katherine assisted our firm with a discrete project over a three month period in a consulting capacity. She took the time to understand our business and scope the project before we formally engaged her which resulted in a quality, bespoke product which was both on point and insightful. Katherine's positive attitude and transparent communication style underpin the service she delivers, making it a pleasure working with her.

Ash Hill, Partner, Wynn Williams

I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed our session yesterday and how much value I got from it. It helped me to look at things differently and what you said made so much sense.
Can’t wait to get started with the new approach and looking forward to our next session!

As Managing Partner of Pinsent Masons, I worked with Katherine from 2004 to 2015, during which time she held a variety of senior roles in business development, knowledge and, most recently, as Co-Founder of Vario, our flexible resourcing hub. Katherine is unusual in that she combines the intellect to grasp and provide solutions to a wide range of issues quickly, with a creative and people-centered approach. In practice, this makes her very persuasive! As well as a highly capable thinker, Katherine makes things happen. During her time at Pinsent Masons, she delivered a range of firm-wide change projects, negotiating complex issues and where necessary challenging stakeholders to devise and implement new ways of working which have stood the test of time. Above all, Katherine makes friends wherever she works because she is straightforward and enjoyable to work with.

David Ryan, Managing Partner of Pinsent Masons from 1998 to 2015

I had the pleasure of working with Katherine at Pinsent Masons when a partner there from 2006 until 2013. Katherine excels in all she takes on. She is a good listener, getting to the nub of what is required from a brief, hugely articulate and able to get her ideas across, task orientated, getting things done to time, intellectually able to operate at the highest levels, a creative thinker quick to grasp the challenges faced in selling professional services and to put forward alternatives and above all great fun to be around. In 2013 Katherine worked with me to design and deliver a conference on business development skills to an audience of 60 plus and in this respect her resilience and ability to adapt to a changing agenda and nail what we were doing in a compact time frame was impressive - true grace under pressure!

David Stevenson, Chief Executive, George Green & Co and former partner at Pinsent Masons

Katherine is a intelligent, focused and incredibly hard-working. She has immersed herself in the professional services world and truly understands how best to collaborate with - and develop business for - solicitors. Katherine combines her considerable intellect and business acumen with kindness, patience and - almost most importantly, when working in a highly pressurised environment - a sense of humour. A joy to work with.
